Phuket
nicknamed the Pearl of the Andaman, had established its economy
and wealth from tin production, which dates back over 500
years. Today, Phuket is the most popular tourist resort in
Thailand.
Located
to the West of the Malayan Peninsula, this part of Thailand is
unique, with beautiful limestone rock formations, and crystal
clear waters, the Phuket ranges occupy an area of Southern
Thailand from Ranong to the north of Krabi.
Phuket is now truly and international resort,
offering every style of accommodation from brand named 5 star
hotels to cheap guest houses, exhilarating nightlife, and
excellent restaurants and entertainment outlets. Phuket and
Thailand is divided into seasons for the tourist market, and the
most expensive ( and busiest) time to visit is between
Christmas and new year dates, where some resorts increase rates by
as much as 50%.

If you want to
do more than just relax around the pool, Phuket offers a large
variety of activities, which include Jungle treks, snorkelling,
diving and fishing as well as some local sightseeing, Elephant
trekking and island visits which are a must, and take in the
famous Phi Phi Island. and James Bond Island
Short stay
packages and "mini-breaks" for one of two nights are a
excellent way to see other parts of this beautiful area. Although
slightly more expensive than arranging yourself, you will find
buying a package will be time saving, and hassle free, especially
if you are on a time limit. Although not always the cheapest
way, packages do offer quality hotels, so you don't have any nasty
surprises on arrival. You can just get up and go!
